Employability Support

Specialist employability support for D/deaf and hard-of-hearing people.

Accessible, practical support that can work alongside colleges, employability providers and other organisations already helping someone move towards employment.

How we can help

Focused on the barriers around getting into work.

Support can complement existing provision and focus on the areas where specialist communication awareness is most useful.

CV, application and interview preparation
Interview practice and confidence building
Guidance and information around Access to Work
Moving from college or adult learning towards employment
Communication barriers during recruitment
Communication barriers during early employment

For organisations and providers

Specialist support that complements what is already in place.

Employability providers, colleges, adult learning services and other organisations can speak to us about people they are already supporting. We can discuss what is already in place and where With Meridian may be able to help.

Support can be arranged as one-off or ongoing sessions and delivered remotely or in person, depending on the person, location and support required.

We do not assume that every D/deaf or hard-of-hearing person has the same communication needs.

Starting support

A simple first conversation.

  1. 1

    Tell us the situation

Share what support is already in place and where additional specialist input may help.

  2. 2

    Discuss communication needs

We consider the person, setting and communication preferences rather than assuming one approach fits everyone.

  3. 3

    Agree the next step

We discuss whether one-off or ongoing support, in person or remote, is appropriate.

Talk to us

Discuss a referral or support need.

Tell us a little about the person, setting and support already in place and we can talk through the next step.
